ISLINGTON MIND

Improve the quality of life of all Islington residents who experience mental distress or are concerned about friends and/or relatives experiencing distress.
Promote the preservation of mental health and the recovery of people suffering from mental health problems.
Provide flexible community mental health services which meet local need.
Encourage and actively promote service user involvement in all aspects of the delivery and development of our services.

JUBILEE ACTION

Jubilee Action is a childrens charity, firmly founded in Christian principles, dedicated to rescuing children at risk from abusive situations and providing them with sustainable solutions for the future. We believe every child has the right to be free from slavery, prostitution, illegal imprisonment and extreme poverty. In the first instance we rescue. Then, next stage, we rehabilitate and ultimately provide the education and training needed for a self-sufficient and fulfilled future. We are committed long term to the children we rescue and help our local partners develop from a place of dependence to one of independence so we can, in turn, help more children.

MACMILLAN CANCER

Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer.
We provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all.

FOOD CHAIN

The Food Chain provides nutrition services including home delivered meals, essential groceries and nutrition advice to men, women and children who are chronically sick as a result of HIV related illness. We aim to ensure that no one living with the virus has their ability to get well and stay well adversely affected by lack of access to appropriate food. All our services are provided with the help and support of nearly a thousand volunteers and funded via public donations

PROJECT ANGEL FOOD

Project Angel Food's mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses.

From our kitchen, Project Angel Food staff and volunteers cook and deliver free and nutritious meals prepared with love.

We act out of a sense of urgency because hunger and illness do not wait.

SIGHTSAVERS

For someone who is blind, the gift of sight is the greatest gift of all. We believe that sight is a basic human right, and that everyone - including those in the world's poorest countries - should have access to the treatment and eye care that they need. Our work is important because, as well as providing treatment that can help to restore sight, we also assist with the rehabilitation of those who are irreversibly blind - thereby helping them to make a better future for themselves.

CWAC (CHILDREN WITH AIDS CHARITY)

Children with AIDS Charity was set up in 1992 to help the youngest of those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS maintain a good quality of life. It is a national UK charity with the aim of working towards a future without poverty or prejudice for these children and their families.

Outline is a dedicated charity helping the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in surrey.

BIG ISSUE

The Big Issue exists to offer homeless and vulnerably housed people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income. We produce a weekly entertainment and current affairs magazine which vendors buy from us for 70p and sell to the public for £1.50, keeping 80p for themselves. Vendors must adhere to a code of conduct whilst selling the magazine.

We believe in offering a hand up, not a hand out, but we also recognise that earning an income is the first step on the journey away from homelessness. The Big Issue Foundation is a registered charity which exists to link vendors with the vital support which will help them address the issues which have led to their homelessness. The Foundation works exclusively with vendors, offering support, advice and referrals.
