Hi All, Just a tip for those of you who use Ryanair often. The airline charges 10 euro per person when booking flights by credit/debit card . There is a way around it though. If you buy Ryanair vouchers on the website (very easy process) and then use the vouchers to buy your flights. There are no extra charges for using your card to buy vouchers and no charge for using the vouchers to buy flights. When you buy the vouchers - You get the code immediately and then you just use that to pay for your flights therefore dodging the one of the many extra charges.
Thanks for this tip, I got caught for these charges last year and was charged per person and each way! It all adds up especially when theres 5 passengers!
Me too Vez, we got fleeced when we went to Belfast by Ryanair and it ended up cheaper had we flown with Easyjet. Got charged for using a credit card, checking in for each person and each way and baggage, then they said despite only having one case betwen us it was overwieght and it would be an extra £24. Funny they didn't say a word on the way back and it was even heavier! I was not amused and next time it will be with BMI or Easyjet I think.Have flown with both of them regularly and it was a breeze.
An alternative to vouchers - useful is your flight is below the minimum voucher value - is www.entropay.com
It's a virtual visa electron card and visa electron are not (currently) subject to the same charges. You load the virtual card with funds from a credit card (there is a 5% charge for this).
