Nothing much happening with me. I was at the Odyssey last night seeing Leonard Cohen. I don't really like him but my hubby does. £90 a ticket!!! but I could hardly complain after what I've spend on George the last 3 years. Leonard Cohen hasn't a note in his head but writes great lyrics and surrounds himself with great backing singers and fabulous musicians. So it was a good night.
Every time I am at the Odyssey I think of all my great "George" friends who I met there. Hope to see you soon
Haven't been here for a looong time - have been browsing around a bit now - you all know each other so well and are having fun like always!! And another another Xmas party is being prepared- that's a tradition now! Can't come but have subscribed for the Xmas package again (JEFF at least I hope I have! ) And a certain Mr. Michael is truly having a break for almost a year now - how long can it take to produce and release live material?? LOL George will show us I guess! The official site is (totally) dead now - no news there of course - but it should be food for thought that the only place with life - is the non-member forums area! (At least they have finally removed the note about how to pick up Copenhagen tickets!) Have just been reliving the Copenhagen final gig again in a thread here - KENNY your report and wow the pictures!!! Best I've seen from that day!! Now I know where you stood - so am going to check my own poor little pics I think you could be on maybe! One year now almost since the excitement of Earls court + Copenhagen gigs - such a surprise with final gigs in Europe afterall! Final and final - you never know with George - and I think maybe he does miss being on stage at little - having made that 2-minute appearance with Beyonce in June! We will never know now where he might turn up next time
@Panos - yeah life has been uneventful the last year when it comes to George - he is having his break and we are waiting for - the dvd or whatever mr. Michael comes up with . If there will be Cinema release - hope it will not be only in London but in other countries too !
@Kenny Yes I've seen most of the other tour pics here too - great stuff all !!! However the Cph Final gig is special too me, my hometown, the last gig, stood on best spot at any of the gigs I've been to and George (of course) was wonderful!!
I stood on the opposite side of the small stage than from where Kenny' took his pics and some of the pics I have from my spot are with audience on - maybe some of you are there??
BUT HOW do I load them on to the Yard ? - can I use ImageShack or just copy them in or ?
I agree Jeff, never again would I go to Copenhagen to see George, the crowds ruined it for us all. I still wish we should have ended the concerts at Earls Court and such a high, but we wanted more and got greedy. Any how Bee, I was part of Kennys group, its my arm ruining some of his videos , so mine are better then his - only joking Kenny.
The 2 Earls Courts gigs were absolute unique fantastic no doubt about it - (I was there!) - George in his hometown that IS special I agree - can't wait for the dvd!!
But don't let all that craziness in the GC line spoil an otherwise fantastic gig with George in Copenhagen!
I stood there in the middle of the GC line, and when the doors didn't open at 17.00 like it said on the tickets, people started to panic and everybody was being pushed backwards and forwards and the rude Parken people were shouting at us - and I just want to forget about it all!! But I can remember I was thinking that there are no other artists in the world than George I would do that for!!
I see that Copenhagen gig as a surprise gig and as a bonus gig and I was just so lucky that the place was in my hometown otherwise no way I could have gone!
I've tried to upload a few pics from Cph as I think some of you could be on - but still having trouble with it - I'll let you know when I succeed!
@eileen - were can I see the videos you are talking about? Here somewhere? Can't find it.
@jeff I'm making my way through the tour section - great pics and stories.
hay bee. if you cant get teh pics to load up then feel free to email me them at jyogit@aol.com and ill add then in for you babes xxxxxxxxxxx glad you like teh tour section..its still incomplete...i think it always will be... lol but i am adding stuff all teh time
Bee the videos she is talking about are on my Facebook account so you need to be one of my friends on there to see them.If you aren't then get Karin,Anne,Clara or Heidi to recommend you and I will add you. I would just like to reiterate what I said in my blog and that is, I wouldn't like to see the crap that went on in Parken outside and inside the stadium and the behaviour of a mindless, selfish minority, detract from what was for me one of the best GM concerts I have ever been to. We had a wonderful time in Copenhagen, it's a lovely city that I would recommend happily to anyone to visit, damn expensive I know, but clean, modern where new blends seamlessly with old, beautiful historical buildings rub shoulders with high tech modern design and great diversity of bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs coupled to a very efficient public transport system and cheap, plentiful taxis. Our hotel was lovely and very modern, the staff everywhere we went were helpful and friendly (except for SAS but that's another story!) and almost everyone speaks English which was very useful. If you have the chance to go there then you should, if you can, then make reservations at The Square hotel and spend an afternoon and evening in The Tivoli you certainly won't regret it!
I'm going to have one more try with those pics in a while - otherwise I might ask for your help (once again) Jeff!!
And Kenny WOW I think that the Copenhagen Tourist Agency should hire you as consultant for their advertising I agree it's expensive like everywhere else in DK - I know I live here).
I'm not on Facebook - but if/when it happens I'll be back about those videos
Yeah all the crazy things outside (and inside for some) in the GC line are something to forget - but also think that in spite of everything most fans do agree that the Copenhagen gig itself (and George himself of course!!!) was great.
Hi Guys, not been round for ages soz, down to one laptop in the house & I always lose the fight to get on it!!!!
Hey its great to relieve the memories of last year- I was gutted not to be in Copenhagen but the 2 nights at Earls Court-well I will remember forever. Can't believe we were all so excited this time last year, I was on holiday in France trying to find internet cafe to check up on the info/hype-loved it.
Anyway hope everyone having good summer holidays- even if the weather not so good
