Been really busy lately as I'm snowed under with work for Uni but I could still get into the fan club last time I checked even though it's a bit flaky.
It seems that most folks have moved over to Facebook though but the down side of that is that it is not a forum so the inevitable has happened and circles of friends have broken away.
So that makes this place one of the last places that our common interest can be celebrated and discussed and it would be a great pity if this was to wither and die also.
It seems as though George is hell bent on pursuing his open relationship in the public eye and is totally dismissive of public opinion or what Kenny's feelings might be on the subject.
Personally I don't care what he does in his private life, that's between him and Kenny but I can't help thinking he has a really decent bloke there who possibly doesn't share his enthusiasm for cruising and it certainly feeds the avaricious gutter press which just creates negative publicity.
George being George is of the mind, who gives a shoite I will live my life the way I see fit but I can't help thinking he is losing the battle in the public eye.I really wish I didn't have to find myself defending him so often at work or when out at friends when people are trotted up to meet the "big fan of that gay bloke who does the drugs and cruising".
My answer to this affront is usually along the lines of highlighting their utter ignorance of George and his hugely successfull career and pointing out that there are far far worse people out there in the music business who kiddy fiddle, score hard core drugs,kidnap and torture and murder people but somehow seem to be better thought of by the press.
Anyway we will all need to start saving for the next tour soon eh? LOL
Meanwhile the dregs of the fanclub are getting more and more annoyed at the total lack of action from George over the official fan club and to be honest I don't think he has given it a second thought.
He once famously commented "peace and love everyone" to remind certain people in the previous forum to grow up and stop the bickering and bitching but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
There are those who feel for some strange reason that George "owes them" explanations and actions for everything he does and everything they identify as things he should attend to, in a manner they see fit and have made the place their personal voice over the years so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was glad to see the back of it.
No one can deny that the current fan club is a total mess and needs replaced but I'm not so sure any new iteration will contain the forums so beloved by the regulars if and when it ever happens.....

So boring always have to defend being a fan everywhere - so I've stopped defending, don't understand his private life anyway at all - I  just say as a FACT I'm a George Michael fan- full stop!!

 

And 'the other place' - time will tell what happens there - Fingers crossed for one day new music and/or a tour (I've started saving) don't think that George will really retire forever! Meantime hope everyone won't totally disappear in FB groups or elsewhere in life!

Again I'm happy the Yard and Forum here is still alive and kicking!
